Our choice of song:
The Sound of Silence" (originally "The Sounds of Silence") is a song by American music duo Simon & Garfunkel, written by Paul Simon. The duo's studio audition of the song led to a record deal with Columbia Records, and the original acoustic version was recorded in March 1964 at Columbia Studios in New York City for their debut album, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., released that October to disappointing sales.
We choose this video as our primary inspiration
Main elements we picked up:-Black and white tone
-Fire with strong contrasting lighting

The final outcome:

What was successful and unsuccsessful?
We successfully built up a consistent tone with smooth transitions between footages, for example - the use of fade fits in the slow and steady rhythm. We were able to connect the footages with a sense of breathing, rather than using 'cut on beat' method that display an energitic detachment. Especially after the desaturation, the vibrant red and green may be a little bit too overwhelmingly up beat.
We were unable to fully eliminate the green background when it fuse with hair, so we tried to desaturate the green.
The costume of our protagonist could be designed in a fashion to indicate coldness, for example, coat with fur or leather.
A cold tone can be implemented to suggest melanchony and form contrast with the warm fire.
