For my Song cover art:
I chose an abstract artistic approach with absurdism to highlight the main theme - 'wondering and got nothing to do'.

I thought about using graphic design, portrait, set up and real life object. Depend on the approach I am taking, I can choose different symbolism and develop accordingly. The mainstream Digipak cover uses mostly portrait, landscape, objects, or abstract art.
Other than the cover, many of these ideas can be transformed into products for sale and brand identities. Inserted inside the Digipak as cards and booklet.
Foot Pump

I thought about using a foot pump as the main subject of my digipak. It represent a process of breathing, a living state between moving and static. While it is also a medium (tool) control by human. Another symbolism is a lock and key, it also takes on a function of inducing actions and implying a desire to change.
Lock & Key

The combination of a lock and a key - creating the symbolism of getting oppressed while seeking for freedom. I thought about using a silhouette film effect to portray the effect of being unable to obtain. The keyhole also displays an imagery of a tunnel, guiding the audience forward to see the unknown.
Coca Cola

The use of ready made objects, symbolizing mass production, and consumer behavior. It is very iconic and would leave a deep impression among the audience. Although it is little direct connection with the song 'Lemon Tree', but there is still space for manipulation and explanation.
Window and Wall

A frame story composition to amplify the key theme of isolation. The nostalgic window plus the warm lighting gives a sense romantic and comfortable vibe. However, the lack of people in the photo also created a sense of loneliness, linking back to the line of 'sitting in a boring room'.
Inspiration from other artworks:

The linguistic game
Thinking about the title of our song, or a phrase that looks cool on the song cover...
By using the key word - lemon, I searched up the words 'lemonist' and 'lemonism' on urban dictionary.

The word 'Lemonist' stands out as a unique terminology to use, fusing some absurdism that would work well with the abstract song cover. 'The Lemonist' - indicating a sense of isolation while creating unknown.
